About
Every Chog Genesis NFT has a little pet living inside it. It looks like its own art, its traits give it a personality, and its age is how long its current holder has kept it.
Chog Pet is a tamagotchi for all 1,969 Chogs on Monad. You don't need a wallet to play: anyone can open any Chog and babysit it. Holders get a few extras, like naming their Chog and giving it a $CHOG treat.
▶ Watch the trailer: 2 minutes, every mechanic
The point is simple: a collection is more fun when every piece is alive. Long holders show up as old friends, new owners start a fresh life, and the whole community can look after Chogs that nobody has visited for a while.
How to play
Open a Chog by its number, by a wallet address, or tap Random Chog. Then use the five buttons on the device:
- Feed Pick a dish. Each Chog has a favourite food; feeding it that one makes it happiest. Meals turn into poop about 20 minutes later.
- Play A 20-second round of Candle Catch: catch green candles and Mon coins, dodge the red candles. Your best score goes on the board.
- Bath Cleans it up and clears the poop.
- Lights Tuck it in when it's tired. You can wake it too, but it may be grumpy about it.
- Pet Or just tap the pet itself. It likes that.
Each action has a short cooldown per person (feed 2 min, bath 1 min, play 45 s), so one visitor can't spam a pet.
Today
Under the device you'll find today's three bounties. They reset each day at 00:00 UTC, and each one shows the Candles and XP it pays. Go opens a fitting Chog and points at the right button.
The bar below counts every good deed in Chogtown today, from everybody. The goal follows the town: a bit more than yesterday. When it's reached there are fireworks, and every Chog cared for that day gets the Festival day sticker.
It notices you
- It leans toward your cursor, and gets curious if you hover for a while.
- Press and hold the screen to give it a scratch.
- Shake the device and it gets dizzy.
- Leave it alone and it dozes off. Come back to the tab and it's happy to see you.
- Its traits show: auras sparkle, laser eyes zap, a frog buddy hops around, and the room fills up as it grows.
Needs and moods
A pet has four needs that slowly run down on their own: food, fun, energy and clean. The bars under the screen show them; a bar turns yellow when it's getting low and blinks red when it's urgent.
Every Chog sleeps on its own schedule, set by its traits (you can see its bedtime on its card, in UTC). If it's left without food for a day and a half it walks out the door and is away. Any meal brings it right back. Nothing ever dies.
Growing up
A Chog's age is how long its current wallet has held it, read straight from Monad. The longer it stays, the further it grows, and its room shows it: a moving box, then a rug, a family photo, a plant, and finally a gold frame with a crown.
- New homeday 0
- Settled inday 7
- Familyday 30
- Old friendday 90
- Liferday 180
Stickers and the flame
Looking after a Chog earns it stickers for its sticker book. Stickers belong to the Chog, not to you: they stay with it like a scrapbook it carries.
The flame counts days in a row that somebody fed, played with, bathed or tucked in the Chog. Babysitters keep it alive too. Miss a whole day and it goes out.
Moving house
When a Chog is sold or sent to another wallet, it packs a suitcase. Its age starts again from the new holder's first day, and it shows up under New homes and Just moved in. Its stickers, records and visitors stay with it.
For holders
- Sign in with one free signature. It's not a transaction and costs no gas. Use a wallet, X, email or Google (through Privy).
- My Chogs lists the Chogs your wallet holds.
- Name it. Only its holder can give a Chog a name (up to 16 characters).
- $CHOG treat. If your wallet holds any $CHOG, the treat appears on the menu. It's the tastiest thing a Chog can eat, and it earns the treat sticker.
Chogtown and the collection
Chogtown is a map of all 1,969 Chogs. Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag to look around, and tap a face to visit. The chips show who needs help, who just moved in, who's happy and who nobody has met yet.
Some Chogs also wander the hills behind the page. A ! means one needs help, a little box means it just moved in. Tap one to visit it.
The Chog Genesis section is read live from Monad: how many holders there are, how long Chogs usually stay, the Hall of Lifers (wallets holding the longest), the latest moves, the $CHOG price and the Candle Catch records.
Safety and fair play
- Chog Pet only reads Monad. It never asks you to send a transaction or approve anything.
- There are no rewards, points or tokens for playing. It's for fun and for the collection.
- Every action is checked on the server, with cooldowns and rate limits, so the town stays fair.
- It's an independent fan project, not affiliated with Chog or Monad.
